The best Super Bowl appetizer! Homemade soft pretzel dough, stuffed with pulled pork that was mixed with candied jalapeno BBQ sauce, and Guinness cheese cheese sauce for dipping.
Heat the water in the microwave to about 100-110F. Approx. 40 seconds.
Add the brown sugar and sprinkle the yeast in. Allow the yeast to bloom for 10 minutes or until it starts to froth on the surface.
Add in the salt and then the flour. Use a stand mixer or mix by hand. Once the dough forms into shape, knead for 5 minutes.
Cover the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise for 1 hour.
Melt the butter and add the flour, onion and garlic powder, cayenne pepper, milk, beer, mustard, Worcestershire, and shredded cheeses.
Stir until a smooth, creamy consistency is achieved.
Shape the dough into a loaf shape and slice off about 1 inch from the end. Cut that slice in half, add the pulled pork, and wrap tightly.
Bring the water and baking soda to a low simmer, and place each pretzel bomb into the pot for 30 seconds. Transfer to a cooking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Brush each pretzel bomb with egg wash and sprinkle with coarse salt.
Place in oven preheated to 450F for 10 minutes, rotating once at the 5 minute mark.
Dip in the Guinness cheese sauce and enjoy!
